What you can do against INSOMNIA

Did you ever get so desperate in getting at sleep? Or did you even got so desperate having at least a nap during at night when every body is already sleeping? Well your not alone! Just like you, I have an insomnia and here is my story.

When I was a high school student, I was elected as an Student Body Officer at our school. I was so excited that year that I kept thinking of what project I would do or propose next after the other. I was so active at our school performing my tasks and duties as an officer that I did not realize that was giving it too much of my attention. Why?

Yes! As I go to my bed, I kept thinking of my responsibilities and what would I do the next day. Think! Think! Think! And there it goes, my insomnia had started. Its a bad habit whenever I go to my bed or whenever I needed a sleep. My mind did not really want to sleep. I keep of thinking so many things. I have such an active mind at my bed. My mother told me it is called insomnia.

Until now, I had this INSOMNIA. But not as bad as when I was 22 years old...
It was December of 2002. One night, I decided to go sleep early as I used to. And I forced my self to sleep. It was 9:00PM. And hours passed, I still haven't got sleep. It was such a bad night for me. The sun raised the next day without me getting at least a nap. I was little stressed that whole day as I tried getting a sleep. Night came, and I was eager to go t my bed early. And so again, I tried to sleep but the whole night had passed and another day came, I never had even a nap. I was really shocked and wondering why cant I sleep. I didnt know what is happening. I don't have a clue. That 3 days and 2 night being sleepless resulted palpitation, forgetfulness, flying like feeling. Insomnia really added tons of stress in my life. That night (3rd night) I still tried getting a sleep but as usual, I didnt get any... and so I tried going to the doctors. A doctor gaved me an antihistamine. But it never helped me fighting insomnia. And so the doctor reffer me to a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist gaved me medicines and tips on how to fight insomnia. And so. I got my first sleep that night after seeing the psychiatrist.

And oh, before I forgot, here are the tips for getting a sleep.(Fighting insomina)

  • Dont go to bed to sleep when your hungry.
  • Excersice at morning, do not go to gym or work out in evening. Always do exercise only at morning.
